There are days when I want to relax my mind and body, so I fall onto my bed and not move even an inch. Just lie down, stare at the wall and breath. There are also days when my mind is completely stressed out and wants to take a leave from this world. So, I usually grab a book with a cup of coffee and hibernate into my bubble for a short while. But its quite difficult to find a way to relax at work when you have thousand of files to read.
We all have our ways of relaxing our mind and body which relieves us from the tension which we carry.The most appreciated one’s are meditating, exercising, taking a nap. But if you searching for new relaxation techniques to unwind your tension at your work place, then here are the five marvellous ways –
1. Listening to music while working
Listening to music is one of the effective ways to decrease stress while improving your overall health. Music can calm the body, plus it can heal your mind too. It can soothe your brain and help you focus.
Researchers at Stanford University found that listening to music is apt to change the functioning of the brain to the same extent as medication.
So what are you waiting for? Plug your ears and tune in to your favourite song.

2. Grabbing a pen and paper
It is a pure delight. When you write for relaxation, you write for yourself. You pen down your emotions, your thoughts, your words without thinking about anyone. This frees your brain from the constant clutter of motionless words. Since you are writing for yourself, it doesn’t need to mean anything because no one is going to judge you.

3. Doodling
Did I just hear you say ” I can’t draw”? But this ain’t going to be displayed at an art exhibition (or maybe if you find your hidden talent, it will be).
Doodling, drawing, sketching, crafts, mandala, sewing are just another way of loosening yourself.
Drawing same pattern, curves, lines, symbols, signs help you focus your brain on one thing and not get distracted. It helps your brain to stay put an and relax. You can take ten mins out of your work and bring out your creativity to relax.
4. Take deep breaths
You don’t have to be on your toe always. Your mind and body needs utmost intense love and care to support you during your entire day.
So when you feel the tension patting your head just sit idle and think about nothing. Just stare into space and breath. Give your body and mind, a smile and say thanks for loving you.
5. Take a walk
Yes, its essential to take a walk in your office.
Walking helps circulate blood to your brain, which helps in the production of dopamine and serotonin. This keeps you happy and in a cheerful mood.
Sitting on the chair the whole day makes your body stiff so, it is always advised to take a break and walk for a few minutes to loosen your legs and back.
Its not bad to have a water cooler which is in the far corner at your workplace.
Also don’t forget to give yourself a treat once in a while.
