5 times when Bollywood totally copied F.R.I.E.N.D.S!!

Bollywood has taken inspiration from all over the world. But on some occasions, it is a plain copy. But sometimes the copy is so noticeable that you wonder, “Have I seen this anywhere?” In F.R.I.E.N.D.S! Therefore, it is safe to say that Bollywood totally copied F.R.I.E.N.D.S!!

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is an iconic show. It ran for ten seasons and genuinely made us laugh! The actors lived their characters with so much honesty that they have become a part of us.

And why not! Who doesn’t love Joey and his goofiness, Rachael and her inner fashionista, Chandler and his sarcasm, Ross and his paleontology, Monica and her “I KNOWWW” and Phoebe with her triplets! 

Let’s take a look at instances when Bollywood totally copied F.R.I.E.N.D.S. 

1. Rachael’s delivery scene 

Remember Rachael’s delivery scene? And how she hits Ross in the head while she is pushing? This scene was recreated in the movie Salaam Namaste . 

In one of the scenes, Preity Zinta is seen delivering her baby. And if got you wondering, it was similar to Rachael’s scene.

2. The Routine and “Pappu can’t dance sala” 

You cannot possibly forget THE ROUTINE! Ross and Monica’s epic dance routine made us giggle like crazy. 

But have you seen the video for “Pappu can’t dance sala”? And did you have a deja vu moment? And let me tell you this, you were right.

The routine in the song Pappu can’t dance sala belongs to the Geller siblings!!! Check it for yourself!

3. Those sweaty leather pants – totally copied by Bollywood!

Now you might not know about this one because no one really watched the movie “Heroes”. But it is worth mentioning here for the simple reason that it recreated a funny scene from Friends!

In one of the episodes, Ross goes on a date and ends up wearing fancy leather pants. As a result of those pants, he ends up sweating like crazy. So Ross goes to the bathroom to relieve himself of it. But those pants get stuck and he has to call up Joey for help.

Now Joey being Joey, gave tons of advice but nothing works out. In the movie “Heroes” the actors re-created this scene and I will leave it upto the audience to judge!

4. The Phalange scene 

The movie “Maine Pyaar Kia” recreated another iconic scene from Friends. The scene where Rachael decides to leave for Paris and Phoebe calls her informing that there is a problem with the left phalange of the plane. 

In the movie, Sushmita Sen receives a call from Arshad Warsi. But here he says that there is something wrong with the mag wheel! 

5. The recliner scene – copied or inspiration?

Remember the famous recliners in Chandler and Joey’s apartment? More importantly how Chandler and Joey used to sit on it! 

This particular scene was also copied in the movie Salaam Namaste. During the sequence, Saif Ali Khan comes to visit Arshad Warsi at his new house. And then they both jump on the black couches. This scene reminded us of Rosita – The Recliner in Friends!
