Foods That Deserve Our Love In Winter
Chilly winters do not just affect our wardrobes. It creates an impact on the choices we make on the foods we consume since our body experiences changes in the metabolism rate and energy levels. Winterising our diet can be helpful and just tweaking some of it can make us survive through the winters without falling ill for a single day. Foods that are both beneficial for our health and also deserve our love in winters are:
Oatmeal
It is just not a mere breakfast but possesses high nutrient value since it is rich in Zinc and soluble fiber. Though it is a bit expensive and thus people choose to eat old- fashioned oats.

Smoked Salmon
The winter takes a heavy toll on our skin and here come the benefits of eating smoked salmon. Salmon is rich in Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids which play an important role in the structure and appearance of the skin.

Due to their anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties, these are a must-have in the winters. Button mushrooms are full of Vitamin-D and help to boost our immunity. The only thing that we need to ensure is to properly boil mushrooms before cooking since their cell walls are hard to digest unless they are exposed to heat.

Just like Vitamin C, Vitamin D is also important to be consumed during the winters and Cheese are an important source of Vitamin D. It plays a major role in the prevention of diseases and also keeps us motivated and energetic.
Black Bean
Black Beans are rich in copper and iron. It keeps our body warm during winters. In addition to that, it contains flavonoids which reduce the free radicals produced in the body. Black Beans are devoid of any saturated fats.
Sarson ka Saag and Makki di Roti
Though it is a typical Punjabi dish but is enjoyed by non-Punjabis as well. People choose to beat the chilling winters with this food and preferably consume it in the roadside dhabas since ambiance plays an important role in intensifying our appetite as well.
Haleem
A dish made from wheat grains, lentils, and meat. Meat is rich in Protein while wheat grains and lentils are full of fibers and thus making this dish savory and healthy to eat too
