Sonu Nigam is a musician, music director, and actor from India. He primarily sings Hindi and Kannada film songs, but he has also performed in other languages. Nigam has received numerous awards, including an Academy Award nomination, and is known as the “Modern Rafi” after his idol Mohammad Rafi.

When Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and others were breaking into the film industry at the beginning of the twenty-first century, Nigam became the-veins-of-the-movies. She’s a leading playback singer in Indian cinema, having recorded songs for films and albums in a variety of Indian languages.

Shreya’s voice has given us such a masterpiece that it would be unfair not to mention it. Songs like “Bairi Piya”, “Silsila Ye Chahat Ka”, “”Dola Re Dola”, “Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai”, “Ishq Hua” and so many more. The list goes on and on.

Gurdas Maan (born 4 January 1957) is an Indian playback singer, songwriter, and actor best known for his work in Punjabi cinema and music. At the 54th National Film Awards, Maan is the only Punjabi singer to receive the national award for Best Male Playback Singer.

He definitely excelled in his singing game to stay in the industry for a long time. Some of his songs that we all sung in our childhood are Larh Geya Pecha, Heer, Dil Da Badshah, Vilayatan,
Boot Polishan and a lot more.

Jaswinder Singh Bains, better known by his stage name Jazzy B is an Indo-Canadian Punjabi playback singer and songwriter. Only an og Jazzy fan will remember the song- Dil Mangadi, Mitra De Boot, Billo Tera Jatt, Soorma by him.

~ K.K.

Krishnakumar Kunnath (popularly known as KK, K.K. or Kay Kay) is an Indian singer. He has been a prominent singer in different languages films… This guy sets a great example of how to hustle in different areas. K.K. is not just hell-bent on his passion (singing) but also spattered his talents in every direction. He sang 3,500 jingles before breaking into Bollywood. ~ Monali Thakur

Monali Thakur is an Indian musician and actress who was born on November 3, 1985. She has won a National Film Award, a Filmfare Award, and numerous other accolades. Thakur began her career in 2000 with the Bengali film Sajoni Aamar Sohag’s song “Sundar Kato Sundar,” which she co-wrote with Kavita Krishnamurti, Goutam Ghose, and Pratik Choudhary.

Fans still go gaga over the songs like “Moh Moh Ke Dhaage” and “Sawaar Loon” which both were sung by Monali.

Kailash Kher (born 1973) is an Indian playback singer and music composer who specialises in songs inspired by Indian folk music and Sufi music. Pandit Kumar Gandharva, Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, all classical musicians, influenced him.

He moved to Mumbai in the year 2001, where he began his foray into the music industry.  Kher struggled, living in cheap hostels and doing whatever musical work he could find to make ends meet.  He got an opportunity to sing a song for the movie Andaaz. In this movie, his song “Rabba Ishq Na Hove” became much popular. His song “Allah Ke Bande” from the obscure movie Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II became very popular and this song made him a popular singing star in Bollywood.

~  Sukhbir

Sukhbir Singh is an Indian singer. He is called the “Prince of Bhangra” by many. At times, his Bhangra music ranged from fusion to pure Punjabi.

There’s no party that goes without playing SUKHBIR’s songs. His songs are a big jam to every hype house. Gal Bann Gayee went platinum in 1977 and even now fans remember this song precisely.

~ Alka Yagnik

Alka Yagnik is an Indian playback singer who was born on March 20, 1966. She has a long and illustrious career in Indian cinema, spanning four decades. She has won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer seven times out of a total of 36 nominations, and she has also won the National Film Award twice.

Alka is an exemplary example of music artists from the 2000s who demonstrated that if you are driven and talented, time does not make a difference. ~ Sunidhi Chauhan

Sunidhi Chauhan (born 14 August 1983) is an Indian playback singer (one of the music artists from 2000s). Born in Delhi, she began performing in local gatherings at the age of four and made her career debut at the age of 12. Besides her up to par songs, she has patently gained many recognitions. Sunidhi’s music contains elements of pop, hip hop, R&B.  Even though there are many that came from this genre, Chauhan always managed to stand alone from the crowd.

~ Sajid-Wajid

Sajid–Wajid was an Indian Bollywood Hindi film music director duo made up of brothers Sajid and Wajid Khan, sons of tabla player Sharafat Ali Khan. On June 1, 2020, Wajid Khan, the younger of the two brothers, died. Sajid Khan continued working as a solo music director after his demise.

~Jasbir Jassi

Jasbir Singh Bains, better known by his stage name Jasbir Jassi, is an Indian musician, lyricist, artist, and actor who was born on February 7, 1970. The songs Dil Le Gayee and Kudi Kudi continue to captivate listeners.

His first album release was the 1993 low-profile Channa Ve Teri Channani. He appeared along with Charanjit Ahuja in the music video of “Channa ve Teri Channi”. This was followed up with a string of hit albums – ‘Dil Le Gaye'(1998), ‘Kudi Kudi'(1999), ‘Nishani Pyar Di'(2001), ‘Just Jassi'(2002), ‘Mukhda Chann Varga'(2004) and ‘Akh Mastani'(2007).

Himesh Reshammiya (born 23 July 1973) is an Indian playback singer, music director, songwriter, producer, and actor who works in Bollywood. He composed songs for movies like Tere Naam, Aitraaz, Aashiq Banaya Apne and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? for which he earned several accolades. His one of several music artists from the 2000s whose legacy we’re still carrying on.

~A.R. Rahman

Allahrakha Rahman,  or  A.S. Dileep Kumar, was born on January 6, 1967. Professionally known as A. R. Rahman is an Indian film composer, record producer, musician, and songwriter who primarily works in the Tamil and Hindi film industries.

Rahman has written a various jingle for advertisements and many more marvellous songs, that just not has won hearts across the nation but globally. Talking about Rahman, we can not forget to mention Vande Matram which is one of the best selling Indian non-film album.

~Udit Narayan

Udit Narayan (born December 1, 1955) is an Indian playback singer whose songs have primarily appeared in Hindi-language Bollywood films. He has also sung in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Odia, Nepali, Bhojpuri, and Bengali, among other languages. He has received four National Film Awards.

Narayan’s work has been praised by his contemporaries Alka Yagnik, Kavita Krishnamurthy and music director Ankit Tiwari. Narayan remained prolific through the 2000s, singing popular numbers in films such as Pukar, Dhadkan, Lagaan, Devdas and Veer-Zaara.

~Mohit Chauhan

Mohit Chauhan is a playback singer from India who is best known for his work in Hindi films. On March 11, 1966, he was born. He was a member of the Silk Route band. Chauhan has been nominated for three Zee Cine Awards and two Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer.

His singles would make you sway and hum along with the tune, and even make you cry on occasion. “Is This Love,” “Khoon Chala,” “Tum ho,” “Pehli Nazar Mein,” and so on are some of the evergreen songs that have left an indelible mark on our hearts and souls.
