Things Men Should Stop Saying To Women

Men have never been able to control their mouth or their mind to say very harassing phrases about Women. But, as it is, the mistake is of all genders, they lock themselves in the cage and pass the keys to their loved ones. Then, the domination starts!

There are so many phrases that Men don’t realise but Women get hurt from them. Not just phrases but simple things which affect Females a lot. Women have taken a lot till this generation, but maybe we can change this from now on. Instead of saying “You’re a woman” let’s say ” You can do this”.

 But some wordings still make no sense yet Men use them- 

“You’re not safe, don’t go!”, Men. 

This is usually used in every house to humiliate the girliness and innocency of a woman. It means that the world is not made safe for them, that there are people out there who can kidnap or sexually assault them. But this doesn’t mean that women are not safe, it means that it has not made safe for them. Men are indirectly pointing their species for not the world safe for women. This phrase results in a lack of interest in anything in women, and eventually, become unknown to the world. 

“I thought women liked Pink”

It is very misogynistic to judge what women like in general. Pink is a colour that can be liked or disliked by anyone irrespective of genders. On the very first occasion of a girl’s life, they are decided pink coloured. When a girl is born, they are given everything pink, from a towel to shoes. Even in a woman’s life, the gender reveal is also separated on Pink and blue. So it is not actually determined by women to love pink, it’s the society to defines it. 

“You like superheroes?”

Again, society plays a big role in judging the characteristics of all genders. It is very much believed that Girls are made to watch Barbies and Boys must feast their eyes with superheroes. But in reality, it is up to one’s interest and it shouldn’t be judged. Not just watching superheroes, even being one for women is doubted. 

“You play sports?”

It is not very shocking to see women play sports. Men usually doubt females’ ability to play sports. It is sometimes because of their hormones and interest. But women are succeeding in the field of sports, so it is very unreasonable to believe that women are detached from sports.

“Do you also do things like girls?/ Don’t be a girly human!”

 

Well, if she’s a girl, wouldn’t she be familiar with the same behaviour? Otherwise, it depends upon the person to have their characteristics. It doesn’t mean if you have your nails done and hair set up, then only you’re a girl. Furthermore, Girls cannot become men to avoid shrewdness.

“Of course, you love shopping!”

Having said this is very relatable to every woman. But this is very eradicating to a woman’s words because not every woman loves shopping. It is admitted by half of the women that they hate shopping. But it doesn’t mean that they should be judged based on that. Or if a woman likes shopping or not. 

“You must be a feminist, I’m sorry!”

Is it a rule that only a woman should be a feminist and even if she is, Men will say sorry because she’s a feminist not because they actually insulted females? Feminism should be present in every human being because it is as same as equality. So, it is very offending being said something rude about women and even more offending to hear “You must be a feminist”. 

“It may be heavy for you, may I?”

Well, sometimes it is generous but most of the times it is to make women feel inferior. Women can’t handle heavy stuff is what they think, but in reality, they’re handling such mentality. So they’re not weak to handle a heavy object.

“You must not know math, let me do that for you” / “You may not be good with numbers”

It is scientifically proven that it depends upon one’s will to do Math and not on Gender. And there is no competition between a male and a female. So it doesn’t mean that Men can do better and they should demotivate women like this. 

“You look better with long hair”

It’s all up to women how they want to keep their hair. You’re no one to judge what she’d look better with. And the main thing, you should like a person the way they like themselves. 

“You shouldn’t wear that, should you?”

I don’t think there’s any such rule written in the rule book about what women can wear. It is very sexist to judge a woman by what she wears. 

“Are you having your monthlies?”

Men usually blame an argument on women’s hormones and menstruation. But they do not have a right to know about their changes and even if they do, they can’t blame it. There might be a role of mood swings in the argument but there must be some reason. 

“You seek immaturity like a girl”

Immaturity’s definition is very misused and mistaken. But actually, in this situation, people tend to target the things which women love. Sometimes being cute is immature for Men. 

“Stop you’re embarrassing me”, said all Men. 

A lot of times Men feel that women are doing such things which are embarrassing them. From being too tall to being stronger than them, Men feel embarrassed. 

“What have you done for men?”

At certain moments in a relationship most probably in a marriage, Men pay tribute to Women by handling financial situations. Women do nothing but sit at home enjoying the money according to Males. But there is nothing like anyone has ever done. Especially in a relationship, it is your choice to do so. 

“Women don’t know how to drive” / “Men drive better”

It is scientifically and practically proven that Women drive safer than Men. And it is no birth gift to Men that they can drive. Nowadays, females drivers of cabs and autorickshaws are much safer. India’s best female racing driver, Sneha Sharma completed the formula 4 championship recently. This proves that it is nothing like Women can’t drive. 

People who say these things have low self-esteem and are most likely threatened by the fact that a woman could be smarter, more driven, more independent, and just generally a better person overall than they are.
