Imtiaz Ali tends to make his movies memorable by writing dialogues which are equally memorable. Here are some of them:
“ Andar se kuch aur hi hain hum aur bahar se- majboor”This line is from Imtiaz Ali’s finest movie ‘Tamasha’. Once again he weaves his magic wand and gives us this masterpiece. He walks us through different emotions and setbacks in life.
“ Ye bada janwar hai ye aapke chote pinjre me nahi samayega, ye apni duniya banayega”Imtiaz Ali left us all awe-struck with his masterpiece ‘Rockstar’. This movie is Ali’s most profound work till date due to its astounding cinematography, vigorous compositions and poignant storyline.
“Samaaj, Mazhab, sab apni jagah hai, lekin pyaar sabse upar”Socha na tha is Imtiaz Ali’s first ever creation as a director. This film was released in 2005 starring Abhay Deol and Ayesha Takia. This was his first ever rom-com which soon became a building step for Ali’s forthcoming masterpieces.
“Jahan se tum mujhe laaye ho main wapas nahi jaana chahti. Jaha bhi le jaa rahe ho wahan pohochna nahi chahti. Par ye rasta bohot achha hain, mein chahti hoon ye rasta kabhi khatam na ho”When we hear these words, most of us will be thinking of that one trip which we thought should have never ended. These pleasing words are from ‘Highway’. Imtiaz Ali tries to break the usual monotony of Bollywood, thus ends up giving us an intricately woven love story.
“ Who meri duniya, wohi meri puja… uske sivah nahi aur koi duja” Love Aaj Kal can be considered as one of the most honest packages Imtiaz Ali has ever delivered to the audience. In this Ali tries to take us on a journey of what you may call a ‘Real Relationship’

“Aisa lag raha tha jaise kuch galat ho raha hai, jaise koi train choot rahi hai” Another gem from Imtiaz Ali. Jab We Met can simply be termed as elegant and pleasing type of cinema. Be it the well composed level of comedy, or the tad bit of somberness. Ali has weaved everything to perfection!
“Dhoondne se bhagwan bhi mil jaata hai, aur jo mila hai wahi dhoonda hoga, soch ke dekho”In Harry Met Sejal Imtiaz Ali grabs the attention back by giving the audience another modern age love story. Here Ali tries to bestow a small yet eloquent moral which goes as “What you seek is seeking you.
