The Unconventional Mothers

Every parent has a specific manner of parenting which they follow. Every parenting skill differs from each other and no one is wrong. Some mothers in the world change their route to an eccentric path. They change their thinking and strive to be much more progressive. Though, contemplation to adopt a new style of parenting is a step, furthermore, making it happen needs courage. Unconventional Mothers are those who have modified their views towards certain aspects of cradling.

Why UNCONVENTIONAL?

Unconventional is something or someone different from what is done usually/commonly. We’re calling mothers UNCONVENTIONAL because they opposed traditional thinking. They also disregarded society’s school of thought about raising a voice.
These mothers have challenged the world’s thinking and brought out a great perspective. They not only suppress the irrational reasoning of all mothers from centuries but also exclude the fact of inequality between all genders. They forget how natural and traditional parenting is done and reform their parenting skills to develop a child who is capable of washing clothes as well as creating a presentation.

While other Moms choose to disagree with their child’s certain age developments. Unconventional mothers try to understand and allow what is correct according to their child’s age.

Franker Mothers

Approaching new worlds to assist their child is very unconventional, some mothers book workshops for themselves as well as their child to expand their knowledge concerning particular topics. Not only workshops but they try to be franker and more familiar with their child. For normal moms, it is very embarrassing to talk about menstruation and such topics. Orthodox mothers believe that relationships and dating are not for their children. Besides, individualistic mothers try to give them the best advice about all these topics and make sure the child’s implementation is correct.

An understanding between the child and mother

According to these atypical mothers, giving privacy to their children is important. But, they also make sure that their child is not taking advantage of their freedom. Not giving complete 100% privacy, but keeping it 80% – 90% of seclusion. In most cases, the child also tries to be the same as their mother, keeping it translucent to their parents. Children also make their mothers aware of happenings in their life. The child also expects an understanding of the situation by mothers. This scenario not only changes the behaviour of their child but also the bond is strengthened.

Punishments

Unconventional mothers enhance their personal education as well as advancement in new trends. they do not support Some of the conservative acts. Taking domestic abuse as an example,
If traditional women’s husbands harm them, they usually just bear it and don’t complain. On the other hand, Unconventional mothers are intolerant towards domestic abuse. Further taking an example of Tapsee Pannu’s character in movie “Thappad”, she was against even a slap.

Mothers know how to deal with people who injure their children. For instance, in the movie MOM, Sridevi disputed and assassinated the victims of her daughter’s assault. Even after being a stepmother and neglected by her daughter, she couldn’t resist but offer 1/2 the pain of her daughter to them.

These mothers don’t support physical punishments. Being hot-tempered on their child also is abstain for them, we can’t say that they don’t punish their child. They just punish them something meaningful and wise for their child. Like getting extra classes or grounded to study.

Specifically Skilled Unconventional Mothers

Another instance of the character of Sridevi in English Vinglish movie, again she did not give up due to pessimistic comments by her whole family. She wasn’t able to speak English at first, but then she was determined to learn it. Her children were embarrassed by her illiteracy and when she learned English, they were intrigued by the surprise. The movie not only proves that mothers can do anything to make their family proud but also being skilled is important for them.

Society and Unconventional Mothers

Talking more about mothers, some mothers aren’t married but have a child. Society earlier was contradicting single women, unmarried women, etc. But some women know that society is meant to disagree with whatever they do. Accepting women with baby/babies when they aren’t married is a great embarrassment for the family members and society. Even after this, unconventional mothers forget everything and awakens optimism for being capable of fending a baby alone.

Taking an example of Neena Gupta, she decided to grow Masaba as a single mother. Masaba’s biological father is Vivian Richards but they decided to not get married. Meanwhile, Neena Gupta got married to Vivek Mehra, when Masaba was 19 years old.
Neena Gupta is an unconventional mother, she was capable of raising Masaba on her own even after the whole world was backbiting about her.

Adoption

Some mothers adopt children who are disabled. In our world, usually, very few people adopt a child and even if they do, it should be a healthy baby. At present, disabled children are being adopted by dearest parents because they know no one will adopt these kids. unconventional mothers undertake this initiative. Adopting these children and then taking care of them makes these mothers happy and inspires other people too.

Marks or Studies?

In this day and age, studies and marks are more essential for stereotype parents. Unordinary mothers believe in learning and applying technique more than marks. Children get upset after the comparison of their marks and their cousin’s marks. Mothers inspired by more mothers like Sudha Murthy who never forced her children for marks.

Sudha Murthy also writes about children and wrote a great book “The Mother I Never Knew”. Mothers try to think from their kid’s perspective of what they want and why they want it. Sudha Murthy did the same with her kids as well as her avid readers. She doesn’t want children to go over the whole dictionary to find out the meaning of the word at such a young age. She wants the children to understand the narration. Mrs Murthy also said that she becomes an 8-9-year-old while writing to let children relate to her stories.

Nowadays, technology has been excelled so much that children don’t easily leave their phones. Unconventional mothers support their children in equalising their time limit. So when they want their child to switch off phones and study or read, they do the same and make them realise it.

Talking About Genders

Nowadays,  mothers have accepted all the genders and can discuss it with their children. Mothers also teach their sons to treat women with respect. The girls are given the courage to stand strong.

Father as an Unconventional mother

It need not be a female who’s playing the role of a mother, it can be a male and playing the role of a mother. The movie Ki and Ka has given us an example, it was the hero. Arjun Kapoor, who got inspired by his mother to be the backbone of the house. To take care of the whole family and become the foundation.

At last, every mother is correct. Taking a step ahead is the choice to enlighten the same in your child as well. Being unconventional is the new common!
