Favourite Moments From FRIENDS

When we say that F.R.I.E.N.D.S is a tv show, it’s not entirely true. Yes, maybe it was just a tv show when it first came out but now it’s much more than that. It’s our mood. Whenever I felt sad or needed a way to improve my mood, I watched FRIENDS. I’ve watched the whole series so many times that I’ve lost count. I have several favourite moments from FRIENDS. 

 

The thing that made FRIENDS this popular is that it’s relatable. I’ve learnt so much about friendship from this show. Ross taught us that it’s ok to love Science and being a nerd, it does not mean you can’t have friends and have a great life. Monica taught us that you have to do what you love and believe in yourself even if your own parents are pushing you down. Rachel taught us that it requires just a split second decision to change your whole life and when you actually make that decision, risking everything, you might achieve something bigger and better. 

 

Joey taught us that even if you’re not succeeding at what you do, you need to keep trying. You never know when Days of Our Life director selects you and you end up a soap opera star. Chandler taught us that it’s never late to decide what you want to do. You can start your career all over again if you want to do what you love. Phoebe taught us that being quirky is not necessarily bad and having a bad childhood will not necessarily ruin you. You can still become a nice and kind woman. 

 

Among all these moments, there were some moments that became our favourite. These are the moments that go through our mind when we hear the word FRIENDS. I’ve enlisted some of them for you. 

 

• When Rachel kissed Ross and Phoebe said he’s her Lobster

When Rachel saw in the Prom video how Ross was ready to take her to her Promb. Unfortunately,Chip  showed up at the last moment, she got up and kissed Ross. This proved Phoebe’s theory of Lobsters and she said “he’s her lobster”. This was the sweetest moment ever and marked the beginning of Ross and Rachel’s relationship. This, one of our many favourite moments from FRIENDS.

 

• When guys taught the girls how to play Poker

 

When girls found out that they were never asked to play poker with guys, they asked them to teach them Poker too. But they ended up losing again and again. During the last game, Rachel got the news that she didn’t get the job she wanted so Ross lost the game intentionally. He was just happy to see her happy. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is. 

 

• When Joey and Chandler lost Ben

When Joey and Chandler were babysitting Ben, they accidentally forgot Ben in the bus. They had to go to the Department of Human Services to get him back. It was really funny to see them decide which baby was Ben. And also, Joey’s ducks’s heads and clown’s tails theory. 

 

• When Girls and Boys played Quiz designed by Ross

 

This is everyone’s favourite episode I think. When Chandler and Joey challenged Monica and Rachel that they know them better than they know them, they decided to have a bet on it. Although the bet then became too much serious when the girls bet their apartment and the guys bet their chick and duck on it. The funniest and one of our most favourite moments from FRIENDS. 

 

• When Ross was jealous of Mark

When Ross was jealous of Rachel’s co-worker Mark, he kept on sending Rachel flowers and baskets and he even sent a whole Quartet to her office. 

 

• When Monica was stung by a Jelly fish

 

The scene where Monica was stung by a jelly fish, first Joey and then Chandler volunteered to pee on her leg. If this isn’t true friendship, I don’t know what is.

 

• When Chandler said I love you to Monica for the first time

When Monica came to talk to angry Chandler wearing a turkey on her head, Chandler accidentally said he loves her. He then said he didn’t mean it but we all know that he did. 

 

• When someone ate Ross’s Sandwich

 

Ross was furious because someone ate his Thanksgiving turkey sandwich. When he found out it was his boss and he didn’t even eat it all and just threw it in the dustbin, he screamed “My Sandwich”. Needless to say he was put on probation later and sent home. 

• When Chandler was in a box on Thanksgiving

When Joey found out Chandler kissed Kathy and was not talking to him, Chandler said he’ll do anything to make it upto him. Joey told him Chandler has to stay inside the box and think about what he did. He even forbade him to talk later. It turned out to be a bad thing when Kathy came to say good bye to Chandler. Thankfully, Joey got him out on time and sent him after Kathy. These two really are best friend goals.

 

• When Monica told her Parents she was dating Richard

 

Monica was really scared that her parents will find out about her and Richard when they went to her father’s birthday party. But when she found out that Richard loves her, she herself told them about her. We all loved Monica in that moment. 

 

• When Will came to Thanksgiving

When Ross’s childhood friend Will came to Thanksgiving dinner, he told everyone how he hated Rachel. He even told that he and Ross used to run a “I hate Rachel” club. The scene where Will is saying I hate you to Rachel is really really funny.

 

• When Monica proposed to Chandler

This was the moment we were all waiting for eagerly. The way Monica surprises a scared Chandler with the candles and tries to propose but keeps on crying, it is all so heartwarming and full of love. Mondler forever for me and easily one of the Mondler shippers favourite moments from FRIENDS.

 

• When Chandler ran away before the wedding 

 

When Chandler got scared of being “Bings” and went to hide in his office, it was really scary for a while as on the other side Monica was getting ready. It is really sweet how Chandler comes to his senses when he finds out Monica is pregnant. Then finally our favourite couple gets married. 

 

• When Joey thought Phoebe was pregnant and proposed her

When Joey was thinks Phoebe is the one who was pregnant, he proposes her and she accepts. It was really funny to see how he again proposes to Rachel using the same line when he finds out she is the one who is pregnant.

 

• When Phoebe sang the holiday song

 

It was so sweet how Phoebe wrote a song for the whole group using their names on Christmas. It was one of her best songs besides Smelly Cat. I still go back to listen to that song and it remains one of my favourite moments from FRIENDS. 

 

• When Mike came to propose Phoebe before David could

It was a big move by Mike when he flew all the way to Barbados to propose to Phoebe. Although I did felt a little bad for David but Mike has always been the person one for Phoebe.

 

• When Ross found out Rachel was pregnant

 

When Ross found out Rachel was pregnant, he freaked out. It was really funny to see when Ross tells Phoebe and Joey about the baby and they act shocked.

 

• When Emma was born

Emma truly brought a nice change to the series. She became the centre of plot very soon. Also, all the confusion about who proposed Rachel was really funny after Emma was born and Joey accidentally proposed Rachel. Emma later brought on our other favourite moments from FRIENDS. 

 

• When Phoebe and Mike got married

Phoebe and Mike’s wedding was the most beautiful wedding of the show. Afterall it is arranged by Monica. It was also nice because Phoebe finally got someone she could call family after being alone for such a long time. 

 

• When Monica and Chandler gets twins from Erica

Monica and Chandler are both shocked when they find out E that is having another baby. But as nice as they are, they decides to adopt both the babies. When they get to know the second one is a girl Chandler very sweetly says  that now they have one of each. 

• When Rachel got off the plane

When Ross told Rachel he loves her on the airport and she still got on the plane, he was heartbroken and went back to his apartment. There, he finds a voicemail from Rachel saying she also loves him and then she tries to get off the plane. But then the voice mail gets cut off without Ross finding out if she actually did get off the plane or not. But then Rachel appeared on his door saying- I got off the plane. Beautiful end to their love story. 

 

It’s hard to choose one favourite moment and for me all the FRIENDS episodes are best. As I said before, it’s not a tv show, it’s a mood. It’s hard not to fall in love with FRIENDS when you finally watch it. So if your friends have been badgering you to watch it, I’d say listen to them. I listened to my friends and I don’t regret it at all.
