We’re all aware of the power of words. Now, imagine those words being strung craftily together, then wrapped in the perfect symphony, and finally accented with just the right beats. Consequently, all of it is packaged like this to come and hit you right in the feels! We’ve all been guilty of rewinding a song over and over again so we can listen to those lyrics which make us question just about everything.

This was written by lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong with the music composed by the band. In addition to the Grammy Award for the record of the Year, it won the MTV Video Music Award for Video of the Year.

This song was a tribute to his late grandmother. As a result of which, it was extremely close to him.

This is a song about wanting to hold on even when there’s nothing to hold on to. And it gets to us every time.
