As a foetus in the womb, all babies develop breasts. And then, throughout the development, the tissues evolve through different processes to become what we see around us. Here we counting down a few facts for the men’s breasts, to help you understand it better:-

1. Men can develop breast cancer

   Although, very rare. It can happen at any age and like in women, more probable to occur when older. Due to lack of awareness, men are less likely to watch out for any symptoms. If anything unusual such as a lump, nipple redness/discharge and swollen lymph nodes under the arms is seen, seek medication attention immediately.

2. ‘Em nipples? – They can lactate

   The condition is called male galactorrhea. And is a result of causes such as malnutrition, hormonal imbalances and/or overactive thyroid. There is treatment for it if it is bothersome. Trans Men are regularly affected.

   When men’s breasts becomes bigger – it is called gynecomastia

   Called man boobs, moobs, etc. is a very common medical condition. Again, affects men in later stages of life. Obesity, hormonal imbalance, side effects of medications are some of the known causes. Gynecomastia can be painful sometimes. Diet and exercise are said to help. Further, there are bras that are designed for the same. Don’t let it affect your self confidence, though, You go, King!

   During sports and other physical activities, men’s nipples tend to chaff and bleed due to sweat and friction with the garments. To help this, sportsmen often wear gynecomastia vests and bras.

10. Nipple Piercings originated from male sailors

    Although theories are blurry, sailors across the equator have said to pierce their nipple. How cool!

By the way, men’s nipples are allowed on most social media and not a woman’s. Just saying. Now wasn’t that educating!
