9 Super Heroines of Marvel Comics
Although the Marvel universe may appear oversaturated with powerful male characters, film, TV series, and original comics contain some of the best super-heroines ever created. Not only are these women physically strong, and they have powers that we can only dream of, but they are also emotionally and intellectually superior. The unfortunate thing is that Marvel’s movies are only now caught up in the fact that fans want to see more of these capable female characters. Luckily, we ‘re still seeing a lot more of them as more Marvel movies come out. The following list contains some of the characters we hope to see more of. This is because they are, without a doubt, some of the most powerful female characters ever. Let’s get a glimpse of our 9 Super Heroines of Marvel Universe.
9/9 Storm/ Halle Berry For X-Men
Wouldn’t it good to change the weather at will? To turn a rainy day into a beach-worthy day? Well, that can be the legendary X-Men hero. Although, to say that making it sunny was the extent of Storm’s powers would be a gigantic understatement. Depending on which canon you follow, Storm can literally wipe out entire areas by calling for a tsunami.
Lighting appears to be Storm ‘s favorite weapon because she might call it down from the sky at any given moment to stun her enemies into submission.
Storm is also a strong leader who helps to pull out the best of the forces of others. This matched her astuteness to make her incredibly powerful.
8/9 X-23 (Laura)/ Dafne Keen for Logan
How are you going to top Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine? Well, maybe it’s impossible, but the X-23, AKA Laura Kinney, is coming close. She ‘s basically a much younger, female version of the character, after all. Only X-23 also has claws that come out of her legs, replicating how a lioness attacks her prey. More importantly, the X-23 has the incredible healing capability that Wolverine has.
This mutant power makes her one of the most invincible characters in the Marvel world.
We’ve seen x-23 in action in the gritty Logan. Hopefully, we get to see her in action again in her very own spin-off/Logan continuation.
7/9 Jessica Jones/ Krysten Ritter for Jessica Jones
Who is Jessica? She’s not as well known as Daredevil or the Agents of SHIELD, even though she spent some time as an Avenger in the comics.
Netflix’s Jessica Jones isn’t just a female superhero — she’s a hard-drinking, gives-no-fucks female who kicks as much ass as she does save the day. Our take is: “She’s rough around the edges. She’s dry, she’s sarcastic. She’s basically a total asshole.”
Just generally though, Jessica Jones is the dark corner of the Marvel universe if you’re seeking shelter from the glossy Avengers films. You should care not because this is a great comic book show, you should care because it’s a great show period.
6/9 Mary-Jane Watson/Kristen Dunst in Spider-Man
Kirsten Dunst was cast opposite Toby Maguire as Peter Parker’s high school crush in the trilogy of “Spider-Man” films directed by Sam Raimi (2002-2007). Mary Jane, whose father is an abusive alcoholic, is an aspiring actress. She dates Harry Osborn, Peter’s best friend but also is attracted to Spider-Man, his alter-ego after he rescues her from the Green Goblin and from a gang of thugs.
In the first sequel, Mary Jane becomes frustrated with her relationship with Peter, but suspects he and Spider-Man are one and the same.
In the last film, Peter proposes to Mary Jane but her future is complicated by career setbacks. He takes up with Gwen Stacy and suffers behavioral changes due to an outside force. Zoe Kravitz provided the voice for Mary Jane in 2018’s “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” which won a Best Animated Film Academy Award.
In the MCU films, “Spider-Man: Homecoming “(2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home” (2019). The nickname “MJ” is used by a character voiced by Zendaya.
Is she a superheroine in Marvel Universe? We feel so!
5/9 Gamora/ Zeo Saldana in Gaurdians of the Galaxy
By now you have no doubt that Marvel Comics or Marvel Universe has represented some kickass strong Super Heroines of Marvel, with large roles or small.
Gamora as written in Guardians of the Galaxy operates within the confines of what is expected of an action movie heroine and then defies those expectations. She has a character evolution over the story, acts as the catalyst for the action by acting with her own agency, emotes without being forced into the role of the emotional crux of a love interest storyline, and is not overly sexualized in the film.
Instead, she exists in a place in the narrative as a woman who is respected (even feared), is competent at what she does, and is never belittled for it, and who shows emotional depth and vulnerability as well as unbelievable strength and will.
4/9 Okoye/ Danai Gurira in Black Panther
Okoye is played by “The Walking Dead” star Danai Gurrira is a beast of a fighter as the general of the Dora Milaje army of female bodyguards as well as the head of Wakanda’s armed forces and intel.
She supports T’Challa (Chadwick Bowman), whose reign as king is cut short by Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), who overthrows him. She helps the rightful leader to take control again of the reigns of the hidden kingdom.
A sequel, once again with Ryan Coogler directing and writing, is expected to be released in May 2022.
3/9 Captain Marvel/ Brie Larson in Captain Marvel
Captain Carol Danvers gained her awe-inspiring abilities when caught in a blast of radioactive energy. This gave her the power to absorb energy and project it at will, as well as create beams of light and heat. She can also fly and has enhanced physical strength and durability.
Captain Marvel is the Super Heroines of Marvel cause she also has a cosmic awareness, not dissimilar from the Spidey Sense, that allows her to sense trouble long before it arrives.
Back in January 2020, it was confirmed Captain Marvel 2 will hit the screen in July 2022.
2/9 Jean Grey/Sophie Turner in Dark Pheonix
Even without the enhancement of the Phoenix Force, Jean Grey is one of the most powerful characters ever written.
She is exceptionally talented when using her sometimes unpredictable telekinetic and telepathic powers. Her mutant ability is on par with that of Professor Charles Xavier and even exceeds his when merged with the otherworldly Phoenix Force.
Jean’s telepathic power allows her to move literally anything with her mind. This means that she can take airplanes out of the sky, manipulate people in any direction, and even rip their skin from their bodies.
Isn’t she just perfect for the Super Heroines of Marvel Universe?
1/9 Black Widow/ Scarlett Johansson in Black Widow
Natasha Romanoff, AKA Black Widow, she’s a master spy. Her time with spy organizations across the globe, as well as working with various masterminds, has given her a skill-set that few Marvel characters have. Therefore, she can easily outsmart even the most intimidating characters. Black Widow’s looks make it even easier for her, as many fall under her spell.
Natasha an original Avengers member is a master at martial arts. Although she tends to use various weapons and high-tech gadgets worthy of Iron-Man‘s approval, her real weapon is her body!
The Pandemic surely has delayed this Super Heroines of Marvel Universe movie to November 6th, 2020.
Last but not a Super Heroine!
How can all Super Heroines be just “Heroes” closing the list with the inclusion of a Supervillain! Even better than Thanos.
This character is the result of bringing the six Infinity Stones together with the lost “Seventh Gem”. Bringing these seven incredibly powerful objects together created this sentient being.
Nemesis has all of the powers of the Infinity Stones, except she has them on a greater level due to the presence of the “Seventh Gem”. So, just imagine the power of Thanos from Infinity War and times that by two or three.
Without a doubt, this Marvel character is not only one of the Super Heroines of Marvel but is also one of the most powerful creations of all time.
