•  Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

Our favorite classic- boy and girl bestfriend fall in love. This movie is something that nobody can hate. We’ve all wanted a friendship like Jai and Aditi… and for somebody to sing “Kabhi Kabhi Aditi.. “ when we’ve been sad. 

• Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam

“Keh diya na.. Bas keh diya”

Nothing can beat the good indian family vibes from this movie. Whether its Kajol and SRK’s chemistry or Big B and SRK’s strained relationship, this is just the right movie for every mood. Poo’s “Tell me how it was!” is a classic. 

• Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Nothing says “Friendship goals” like this movie. After all, we’ve all wanted to be Bunny and live a life as carefree as that. The exotic locations and an amazing collection of quoteworthy dialogues, this movie is a deserving candidate for this list!

• Jab We Met

This was an absolute gem of a movie. Kareena and Shahid’s chemistry and Geet’s carefree girl role still gives us so much inspiration to live life on our own terms. “Mai apni favorite hoon” is just the mood for the next decade. Self love is the new black, baby!

• Tanu Weds Manu

We all love an unapologetic female lead. Tanu, the daring girl from Kanpur and Manu, an NRI looking for a prospective girl meet and these story follows their intriguing love story. The movie was loved so much by the audience that this movie had a sequel named Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

• Bareilly Ki Barfi

This story of a small-town unapologetic girl was a relief from basic Bollywood drama. How she finds a lover in the form of a book whose protagonist she matches with. Kriti Sanon and Ayushmaan Khurana pulled off their roles marvelously. This movie will leave you feeling content. 

• Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Another KJo marvel in the list! This movie has some of the most amazing dialogues written ever. Anushka and Ranbir’s chemistry and the heart-touching melodies this movie gave us, no wonder this movie made it to our list. Also, how can we forget eh stunning Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and our favorite Shah Rukh Khan in the movie. For a bumpy ride of emotions, fasten your seatbelt and watch this movie again. You won’t be disappointed!

• Kal Ho Na Ho

The complicated story of Naina, Aman and Rohit is endearing and gets to us every single time. This is another movie for which you need a box of tissues handy. This movie makes you smile and cry at the same time. 

• Love Aaj Kal

“Ye Heer-Ranja, janam-janam ka saath-type wale log ye sirf kahaniyon mein hote hai, do jism ek jaan-type log, ye sab kya hai? Ye baatein humesha se logo ko confuse karti aayi hai.”

This movie talks about love in different generations, draws contrast in the way of love and still concludes that even after all these years, love is still the same. 

Combined with its party songs, this movie is a perfect package.

• Dear Zindagi

This movie makes you want to embrace life. With SRK playing the therapist (oh my god!) with his unconventional methods and Alia Bhatt sharing her life’s deepest darkest secrets to deal with her insomnia, this is a beautiful attempt to make us fall in love with living again.

• Tamasha

“Ek baar ek hero tha usne bahot mehnat se padhai engineering ki aur phir usne naukri ki, aur phir voh yunhi naukri karte kart ek din marr gaya. Kya hua? Pasand nahi aayi ending. Koi baat nahi badal dengey humari apni kahani hai.”

This was an eye-opener about how our lives have been reduced to the same old routine. We’re so burdened by the standards of a happy and successful life set by the society, that we’ve forgotten to live. This movie makes us ask the right questions for all the right reasons!

 

• Dil Dhadakne Do

This movie is about a dysfunctional family and their struggles in keeping up with their perfect happy family facade. Add in an amazing cruise, stunning locations and a witty narrator in the form of the pet, Pluto (voiced by one and only, Aamir Khan!) and a stellar cast, this movie had all the right ingredients for the perfect Bollywood drama movie. 

• Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

“Pyaar dosti hai!” 

This movie changed how we viewed love and friendship. Whether it was the love-triangle among Rahul, Anjali and Tina or the relationship between Rahul and his daughter Anjali, this is the ultimate feel-good movie. KJo set the bar high for love and friendships with this one!
