#JusticeForTwinkleSharma
Topics like rape, incest, and murder need no introductions or opening lines that could make them any more or less disgusting than what they actually are. I want to know when you heard about the Nirbhaya case, did it make you angry, horrified, ashamed, or deeply saddened beyond words? If yes, how did you cope with that and if no….Well, isn’t it inhuman even to assume such a situation?
Be it Nirbhaya of Delhi, Asifa of Kathua or Twinkle Sharma of Aligarh or the other thousands of girls that get raped in this country each year. All of them were a victim of heinous, barbaric crimes and the sick mentality of the predatory humans. The plight or pain that they were made to go through could never be justified by anything.
As long as there is rape… there is not going to be any peace or justice or equality or freedom. You are not going to become what you want to become or who you want to become. You are not going to live in the world you want to live in.
Twinkle Sharma- a two and a half-year-old toddler of Aligarh, was raped, strangled to death and her eyes gouged out after her parents reportedly failed to repay a LOAN of Rs 10,000.
After three days of the kid being abducted, her mutilated body was carried by stray dogs out of a dumping ground on Sunday. The body of the child, Twinkle Sharma, was found close to her house in Tappal town on the outskirts of Aligarh.
How do you justify a two and a half-year-old toddler Twinkle Sharma, the victim of a gut-wrenching incident?
Police did arrest two of the accused Zahid and Aslam (her neighbours, living half a kilometre away) who later confessed their crimes. Investigations suggest it to be a case of revenge as the victim’s parents failed to pay back a loan of Rs. 10,000.

Contrary to the morbid details in media, Akash Kulhary, SSP Aligarh confirmed that the victim was not raped. He added that the post-mortem report mentions a death by strangulation as the cause and that claims about the victim’s eyes being gouged out, and acid being poured are false. But does that make Zahid”s and Aslam’s crime any less heinous and barbaric?
Akash Kulhary, SSP Aligarh on 2.5-year-old girl death case: We are proceeding with it as an NSA case, we'll try to get it to a fast track court. There is no mention of rape or acid in postmortem report. 2 accused have been arrested, 5 police officials have been suspended. (6.6) pic.twitter.com/2Z1vbSZ4nB

While even digesting the news was tough in itself, some people blew the news in a communal air, giving it an angle that was neither asked for nor required, Comparing Twinkle Sharma’s case to the horrific abduction, rape and murder of 8-year-old Asifa Bano in Kathua.
Where were all the people who are suddenly discovering that 'rape has no religion' when memes like these were being circulated demonising Hindus during the #kathua case? Where were they when placards using the words 'DEVISTHAN' in quotes were being publicised? #Mandsaur pic.twitter.com/QpsanqFyvi

This incident sparked rage amongst the masses and yet some people are taking it as an opportunity to spread misinformation and possible distress by it. Even a fake postmortem report surfaced online. Sick isn’t it?
Some took it as an opportunity to lash out at celebrities for not showing support while making comparisons with their reaction in Asifa case.
#JusticeForTinkleSharma I think Sonam Twitter has been hacked and kept in silent mode, you Sonam better get lost from Hindustan and go to Syria, I will send you tickets money. pic.twitter.com/3mGa6q6N1b

It is somewhat surprising to see how some people so easily give up their humanity for their own pleasures..well this whole article is about such people only, right?
Besides all of that many celebrities and public figures took to social media to show their support and demand justice for Twinkle Sharma.
Angry, horrified, ashamed and deeply saddened beyond words at the barbaric rape of the three year old #TwinkleSharma. The rapist should be hanged in public. No other punishment is enough for this heinous crime. I demand #JusticeForTwinkleSharma . pic.twitter.com/7EwCTQxsUh

The brutal murder of 3 year old Twinkle Sharma – strangled, eyes gouged out, doused in acid, hands broken and thrown out with the trash.

The accused Zahid is in custody and deserves the strictest punishment. For such animals even the death penalty isnt enough. #TwinkleSharma
Taking out our anger on social media, expecting celebrities and social figures to acknowledge such crimes on social media and lashing out on them when they do not, is not how such matters shall be dealt with. Whenever something like this happens, unity or demand for justice should be of prime importance but each one of us fails the victims in this regard and start our own fights. And worst part, we forget all about this eventually until next incident comes up.
These names Asifa…Twinkle and those unnamed but harmed deserve to be remembered and to be fought for. Everything about those criminals disgusts me and sadly, ONLY one thought comes to my mind..” Those innocent girls did not deserve that!”
