Why is JAPAN one of the healthiest countries in the World?

Japan is the most intoxicating place I’ve come across. The Japanese culture can fascinate anyone: the food, the dress, the manners, and the traditions. Everything about Japan is commendable. The country’s status of being developed despite two disastrous nuclear explosions. And most importantly the people there, are the healthiest after the people of European countries.

The data of Bloomberg report 2019 for the World’s healthiest country ranked Japan in the top ten. Though European countries have topped the list these countries are smaller in terms of both area and population. And thus Japan has surpassed all the large economies such as the U.S., China, and India.

So, how did they do it? Let’s find out Inki Sehat Ka Raaz (their health’s secret).

#1 The Fastest Public Transport

Japan got its Independence in the same year as India. Yet India is not even in the top ten of the recent report of WHO. Its major reason is excellent public transport in Japan. The country is ranked second after China in terms of the fastest railway system.

There is no surprise if your country has such fast public transport you would definitely prefer that on your personal vehicles. Thus Japan is extremely low on cars. They mostly use buses and trains for work. And in that way, the chances of carbon emission get lower. Which also leads them to walk around the subways. DO I EVEN NEED TO MENTION HOW WALKING AND LESS POLLUTION IMPROVE OUR LIFE QUALITY? THESE PEOPLE ARE SMART!

#2 The Smallest Size Of Meals

You are going to be really disappointed when the Japanese will serve you food. Of course not in sense of etiquettes. They have them better than in any country. But the size of the meal is something going to bother you. Why the hell is that?

It’s simple you have less on the plate is directly proportional to less in the stomach. See how easy it seems. But trust me if you are a pizza lover. It will be a battle for you to survive there. Well, nothing comes without a price.

#3 Walk Rather Drive

Next, when you visit Japan goes for a walk. Because there you can see the whole race of Japanese. In other words, people there prefer walking over driving or riding. Even there are school children who walk for even a long distance to reach their school.

If you are thinking that how unsafe it would be for them. Don’t worry the Japanese Government had made some guidelines and there are footpaths. That is definitely not like other countries. Consequently, people in Japan mostly don’t join a gym either. Because they don’t need to. Their daily life routine keeps them healthy and fat-free.

#4 Having Organ Meat Instead Of Muscle Meat

In other countries like the United States, muscle meat is highly consumed in non-veg dishes. Due to the location of Japan, it’s easy to get organ meat and fishes. Their food has names such as tongue soup, grilled stomach, and fried liver. Since organ meat has more protein and healthy fat as compared to muscle meat. They use their whole creativity in making the body parts of sea animals tastier. And because of the easy availability, it is even easier to buy there.

#5 Highest Life Expectancy

The oldest man and woman on the earth are from Japan. Kane Tanaka became the oldest person(woman) by celebrating her 116th birthday on 2nd January this year. And Masazo Nonaka from Japan became the oldest living man until 10th April 2018. But he is no more as he died of illness after his 113th birthday. There is a race in Japan named Okinawa, which is the longest living race in the World. Therefore you can observe old age people more often in Japan.
Because the country has the lowest mortality rate which keeps the population long-lived.

#6 Eternal Love For Green Tea

When last time I was in Japan my search for some refreshing drinks was longer than infinity. Their people are drinking green tea even with their meals.

For my surprise, the restaurants were providing green tea for free in some places. Just because to create a habit of a healthy lifestyle. You will rarely find any Coca-Cola and Pepsi store. Even the vending machine there will be seen full of green tea variants. If it does not love then God knows how to justify it.

#7 Spending More Money And Getting Fewer Calories

As we already know, Japan is a developed Asian country. And in case we are talking about money there. It’s not a problem especially when it comes to spending on health. The people in Japan buy food with healthy component without concerning about the price tag.
And most of the time they prefer cooking at home rather eating outside. Which can sound expensive but who cares. Health always comes first.

#8 There Is No Snacking

Snacking in Japan

Even not in vending machines. In case you are busy with your work and have no time for a meal. You can definitely find a MacDonald’s and satiate your hunger in Japan also. But the Japanese prioritize their traditional food restaurant. They don’t like eating oily and fatty snacks. So they are rarely visible even in grocery shops.

#9 Japan Respects Eating Food

This is what I like about Japan the most. No matter how busy they are, missing the food timing is not their trait. I have seen people eating together outside their office. As I have discussed earlier before about the size of meals. It is also because they don’t like leaving out food. You can definitely ask for more but every time you will be served a small portion.

Japan is one of the healthiest countries.
And their postures of eating food are the most traditional ones. I think respecting food is something we all need to learn from Japan for sure.
Now, at last, I surmise that this one is going to amaze you the most. You must have seen in Japanese movies those two sticks. That is used instead of a spoon and fork for eating food. I was not even able to hold them for days. You may not believe it but I have had to use my hands sometimes. Pity me!

#10 The Psychology Behind Weird Dinnerware

Healthy Japan

Let me ask a question to non-Japanese. How do the plates look like in your kitchen?!

Of course flat and shaped like a circle or square right. They can have one or two sections for most if they are somewhat creatively made. But in this country plates have as many sections as you have food variety in your plate. And it is really troublesome to eat it on speed.

Also, how can you ask for more when you know that the same plate is going to be on your table. In the same way, the sticks work.

And that’s how Japan keeps its people healthier and living longer. My ten days trip to Japan was more like one month’s diet yet. When I came back I have actually started drinking green tea every morning. And I even didn’t realize. 😉
